After the funeral, we were on our way home when we observed clashes between shebab and the Army. The people on the left hand side are fighting with the army, those on the right are not involved, but observing.
We saw soldiers throw down sound bombs and shoot teargas cannisters against the youth and young men who were trying to hit them with rocks. As the day progressed, the soldiers began using live ammunition.
What I found disturbing, from the photos, is that some of the troops clearly enjoyed these fights. An ISM activist told us that one of them told him that "clashes are fun".
